Is a wooden comb better than plastic ?
Wake up in the morning with knots galore ? Start brushing your hair out, with the brush you've had for over 5 years, and get the same frizz results every time ? We hear you loud and clear!! As much as it's important to know the products we use in our hair, it's also really beneficial to know what tools to use.
WHY WE SAY NO THANKS TO PLASTIC COMBS:
- Causes static electricity which leads to unwanted frizz.
- Can cause split ends.
- Cannot stimulate natural scalp oils for hair growth.
WHY WE LOVE WOODEN COMBS:
As opposed to using a plastic comb on your hair, a wooden comb or brush can give the feeling of a scalp massage as the acupressure points are kindled. As a result, the circulation of blood is boosted all over the scalp which makes it healthy.
A healthy scalp leads to long and strong hair. Wooden combs increase blood circulation throughout the scalp, and it becomes easier for the hair follicles to get enough vital nutrients.
When we comb our hair with a wooden comb or brush the natural oil content of the scalp goes down each and every hair strand uniformly. It is more or less like natural conditioning which gives us softer and smoother hair.
No Dryness or Greasiness
It's a strong no-go zone for greasy hair... you do not face any sort of dryness or greasiness on your scalp while using wooden combs or brushes.
No Static Electricity
When you use a plastic comb, static electricity is produced in your hair. It spreads down each hair strand and creates frizz throughout. Wood cannot conduct electricity. Hence, using wooden combs or brushes can help you stay away from the damages that result from static.
Combs and brushes made of wood have amazing durability. Their gentle and wide bristles make them less prone to breakage.
- Brush / comb your hair from your ends first and work your way up to your roots.
- Brush / comb your hair in the morning, and every night before bed... you'll notice the difference !
- Never, ever everrrrrr brush or comb your hair while it's wet.
